work study?

so i just found out what I am getting for financial aid

My tuition is fully cover with grants and subsidized loans which is good.

Rent is ALMOST covered under what is left with subsidized loans.
I am like 800-1k dollars short overall for the whole 2 semesters worth of rent.
and of course I need to feed myself.

I would prefer to do a workstudy or do some work on campus as opposed to asking my parents for the extra money or working off campus

(in my experience working off campus(like at a real job) has affected my grades. due to weird scheduling, just a preference)

How do I go about finding work studies? I didn't see anything under ca$h for that.

or did I simply just not qualify for it?

You didn’t qualify for it. Apparently they had a shortage of funding for the Work-Study program, so there are fewer work-study jobs this year. Even some kids who had work-study last year did not get it this year. I was thinking I would qualify for work-study, but did not. I think you can still find on campus jobs that aren’t a part of work study though.

I was awarded work study last year but not this year. You are automatically placed on a waitlist if you indicated that you wanted work study on your FAFSA. I need to go talk to the counselors and see if they can bump me up lol (did last year).

You have to check something in you FAFSA application even to be considered for Work Study. Did you do it?
Funding is very limited and not everyone is awarded WS. But there are many non -work study jobs on campus.
Go to [Hire a Longhorn](http://hirealonghorn.org/) site and check what is available. New positions are open every day.

yeah I did check I am interested in work study

thanks guys

I will be looking for a job on campus some other way. =(

if it comes to it I’ll have to just suck it up and take my parent’s money and pay them back when I do have time for a job.
