I have been given a fed. work study in my fin aid package and was just curious as to what kinds of jobs Colby gives to freshmen and what is the $/hr.

Only joking! My daughter worked in the Admissions Office, but I know there are lots of small jobs available for students around campus. Nothing that will take time away from classes or labs, and can be worked around intercollegiate sports as well. Since she wasn't on a work-study program, she kept all her earnings, but it wasn't much - just something to do when she needed a few bucks. It's my understanding, though, that if it's a fed program, then the "earnings" go towards the comprehensive fee. Suggestion: Call the Financial Aid office on campus - maybe they can offer more help.

Best of luck to you in the next four years - it's not going to be easy, but it's a great education!

Hi, the federal work study program is generally 50% paid by the school and 50% paid by the federal government. I dunno anything about specific jobs there.

Thank you, Pequod and nattack86.
