Work Study

So UCLA gave me $2,500 in work-study, but to be honest, I am a bit confused on how the program works.

Do I just work for that amount and I have to leave my job once I reach $2,500? Is that money an award I receive just for working for the school? Would it be better to take their work study offer or work somewhere else? What are your thoughts on work study? Do-able with the workload?

If anyone could shed light on the issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!
