I received work study as one of my options on my eFan. I just want to know if freshmen automatically get their first choice and if not, their second choice? How does it work? Also, is $2,200 the maximum a student can get? How many hours does that add up to and is it worth it?

There’s a large job fair near Ackerman Union during the first few days of school. Wait in the line, turn in your application, and many students are usually hired on the spot. If that doesn’t work, people then go online to the Work Study site to find employment.

I thought the maximum was $2,500, but I may be wrong. The hours depend on how much the job pays. If it’s $10, you can do the math. After you complete your $2,500 initial, you can, most likely, continue to stay with that employer.

Sorry to ask, but which application are you talking about?

By application, do you mean the resume?

You can apply for positions on the work study page, go to your ursa and pick the middle section “work study jobs and bulletin” search through there and send them emails with your resume.

The Job fair is also an option, as mentioned above. You wait in a line fill out an application and usually get interviewed right then and there for jobs like customer service at taco bell and cashier at the student store.

you can’t work more than 20 hours a week… i saw it in their handbook thingy
