Workload

Hi, this question goes to anyone familiar with BC’s academics: is the workload extremely challenging or can it be handled? Also, how many hours/day and per week are required to maintain a 3.5+ GPA?

Hi applied to BC, EA. I know lots of kids there, they say it's really hard to get in, but once your in, it's not that bad.

I see...If possible (or if you already know), can you let me know how hard it is to mantain a 3.5+ GPA for a Pre-Med student or science major?

Thanks.

Sorry, I only know nursing and business majors. Nursing majors say they study about 8 hours for tests/exams and they do very well about 3.5-3.7. Not hard to maintain. Not sure about business majors.

Hey Cash'd, are you pre-med? I am too!. I have no idea about how hard it is though.

I've spoken to people who go there, and the workload is not overwhelming at all... BC is just tough to get into, once your in its not that difficult at all.... Really interesting observation that i noticed when i was up in Boston... a friend of mine got deferred by BC but got in early to Tufts, and kids at Tufts seem to have a lot more work than at BC. So yea i def don't think work at BC is that overwhelming and the classes are not difficult either, i attended two of them in the business school.

That's not my experience here at all, but it depends on what you're studying. I'm Poli Sci/History/Theology so I have to read and write a lot. But I do constantly feel like I'm really learning from all my classes, not just going through the motions. All my professors are PH.D's from Harvard or Berkely or Yale, and I'm only a freshman.

As far as grades, you do have to put in effort to get A's, but they're not unacheivable by any means.
