Hello,
I have been wanting to go to the USMA for quite some time now. I took three SATs and one ACT, participated in various extracurricular activities, and played a few sports in high school. Sure enough, I got accepted last week! (notification from my Congressman's office on Wednesday, BFE arrived in the mail on Saturday). I am honored to have this appointment which I will most likely accept, and now that I have this opportunity open to me since its my first choice, I thought it would be safe to explore my options a little more on the topic of what branch of the Army I would want to be commissioned into. For quite some time, I have wanted to go either Infantry or Armor. There's still plenty of time to choose, but those are my top two. There's only one thing holding me back: my size.
I'm pretty fit (max pushups and situps on CFA), but I'm not too big of a guy. I'm 5'7" and 155 pounds. I wrestled and played rugby in high school and you would think that that bulked me up, but just barely. The truth is, I want to bulk up a bit before I go off to the USMA, and keep it going while I'm there. I was wondering if anyone could possibly link me or provide me a full body workout that I could use in these next months and beyond to maybe increase my muscle content. I know it doesn't just happen overnight and it's a process with protein, eating clean, getting sleep, etc., not just weights, cause to be honest, I'm not a gym rat. The last time I went to the gym was over a year ago. However, the hardest part of senior year is over and I want to fully dedicate myself to getting into shape for West Point, and I would truly appreciate anyone's help on here. I don't mind running or anything either, I know cardio is huge in the military. Please provide any helpful advice and I will truly appreciate it.
In the meantime, since I've been accepted there, I'll be more than happy to answer any questions on the process or anything else pertaining to the USMA or nominations. I'm done with my part, I'll be happy to help any of you. It is indeed stressful waiting for correspondence, so I will try to answer your questions as specifically and quickly as possible. Thank you very much!
