You don’t often see a yellow card assessed in PK’s. Not sure who that went to.

Stadium 974 was designed to be dismantled, attempting to avoid leaving an unused stadium years after the event.
The 2026 World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada will use existing stadiums rather than having new ones built for the event.

Very sad. And a little unsettling, given that he was so young and had had death threats and other pushback from wearing a rainbow shirt in support of LGBTQ+ folks….
Grant Wahl is one of the best soccer writers around and he will be missed.
It seems like everyone on soccer twitter has a story about what a great human being he was as well.

England-France was my absolutely least favorite type of game-one where the refereeing had a direct impact on the result.
He missed at least one penalty and a number of really obvious fouls.
The only upside is it makes it easy to root for Morocco to make the final

I am rooting for Morocco, but I rate their chances as . . . Infinitesimal. But you never know!
England bossed the game according to the stats, but soccer can be cruel.
Oh well, I guess we’ll have (probably) Arg/Fra in the final… someone adding a third star.
But I kind of hope Morocco and Croatia blow that up.

Wife, DS and I will be in Buenos Aires when the final is being played so we are obviously really hoping that Argentina makes it and wins!!! It would be amazing to be there and be a part of it!!
