world history dec questions

ummm...europeans didn't spread iron to subsaharan africa...the Bantus did

Bantus were among the first to develop iron just a little after the Hittites

and Mongols did promote peace...The Mongol Peace lasted about 1250-1350 and promoted trade

From barrons, "Many scholars believe that iron technology came from centers of civilization in Mesopotamia... Iron technology probably entered either with the phoenicians..." (referring to Africa)

God this test was a disaster...

I got about 1 question right... :S

I suck at life...

but i also bought a cool hat to cheer me up :D

the only question i got right was "where is machu pichu located?" lol

no....but seriously I don't think i did that well. Why do all practice tests/this test ask about the bantus but leave out important questions about world war II and stuff? I should brush up on the all-important bantu history.

also, what was swahili comprised of?

-The one about Napoleonic wars I answered something about the resurgence of monarchies(probably wrong)
-Don't remember the one about German Unification
-Confucian Belief: Peasants over commerce, as Confucius was against commerce
-Ibn Batuta was a morrocan trader and was impressed to see a woman talking to a man that wasn't her husband. probably the one about how women treatment was not uniform in the arab world
-Justinian code was the basis for all subsequent european codes
-The one about the Portuguese I answered that they were egaer to trade...not sure
-Nassar, Ghandi and Simon Bolivar were definitely anti-imperialist

-Which was the last country in America to abolish slavery?
-What was the Delian League?
-The passage about a man that had a dream. Which religion was that

It was a f***ed up test.

Brazil
against Persians(Thermopylae ftw)
Buddhism

**** I put Haiti and I totally screwed this test up.:(

Delian league was a league formed by athens in the Peloponesian war

so it was the other answer choice (i forget which one) but its not the persians

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delian_League

it was formed to fight the Persians

No, it definitely wasn't to maintain a balance of power among the Greek city states since Sparta for instance, always wanted to overpower Athens. The Delian League was formed primarily for the city states to unite as one in the case of Persian invasion, but NOT to become buddies.

*...*ing kaplan misled me

i thought it was united under athens too damn

can someone tell me how many you gotta get right out of 95 to get around a 660? j/w

and the cartoon about japan going into india and elephants just sitting there what was that?

OMG this is so depressing!

questions
-The Peter the Great one? (Barrons only had like a line of info about him...)
-Why the Japanese allowed the Dutch to trade?
-The sad looking Jesuit monk one lol
-The bread quote- whats the consesus, was it Lenin or Trotsky (im guessing Lenin sigh)
-Dr Seuss cartoon

And for the Iron question wasnt one of the choices IRON did NOT precede Bronze Tools...
+ for the Mejiji Restoration I think its the governors one.

Jesuit monk one was Matteo Ricci, answer i think was that they adapted to get converts cuz he was italian but wearing chinese clothing. I THINK

bread-i think lenin

japanese lead dutch to trade because they didnt force religion on them

and what was the one about women after industrialization?

Peter the Great - Sweden/Ottomans(just have to know this one)
Dutch - they only trade do not spread religion
Jesuit - adopt some Chinese customs
Bread - Lenin
Dr Seuss - India does not try and stop Japan

omg there were so many iffy questions like that one on hunter-gatherer societies.

Bishounen- nice name btw ;). do you remember the exact answer choice for the Jesuit one and the Dr Seuss cartoon?

Both Sui and Tang Dynasties adopted strong confucian belief. There's no debate about that, since Sui and Tang (esp Tang) were considered the "Golden Age" of Chinese civilization, and they flourished in arts, sciences, trade, economy, terrirtorial domination, and a strong backing from the imperial government that supported the adoption of confucian practices.
