World History SAT II

What book is best for the World History SAT II?

Barrons goes really in depth and practice tests are not that accurate... i'd go with the AP book. I used both. I don't know much about Kaplan's... seems pretty good though. Definetly not PR though.

hey thanks, any more suggestions?

Alright. I used Barron's. trust me, in depth, hard ass test, guarenteeed 700+.

Yea... the test is pretty hard. It tests alot of random info which is not usually covered in the review books/world history courses. You must have decent process of elimination skills to do well on this test (I used POE on like 1/4 of the questions). As for advice... I don't really have much. Definetly get the Real SAT IIs book - it only provides one test and some practice questions but they are the closest you are going to get to the real thing. I assume you are taking the test in December, so you have plenty of time. Whether to study over a long period of time or cram is definetly a personal choice. I divided the AP book up and read it over a week, the SAT II book i just skimmed over a week before the test. Other than that, study hard and most importantly good luck!

I'm not sure when it will come out... but if it does before your test date... definetly get it. It provides two extra real practice tests, which would be really helpful.

(btw the questions were harder than the actual thing, and my score was much lower than the actual test)

so far, I have been studying from Kaplan and have been taking the chapter tests from barrons to make sure I havent missed the material covered in barrons.. is that fine or should I study from barrons and ensure that I know all the material on there coz barrons has just too much info.....

My suggestion to you is to carefully read the Barrons SAT II World History Test Guide page to page. I spent 3 weeks concentrating on the practice tests for the June 5 test date. The real test was nothing like the questions covered on the practice exams. I got a 660 on the first take. Had I read the Barrons book from page to page, my scores would've been at least a 750+. So read the book to get a firm understanding on the questions that will be on the test.

Is Barron's or Kaplan better?

barrons sat II world. very solid covering everything. the test are impossibly hard.

How is PR for world history? As for Barron's, does it cover more materiel than is needed? and how is kaplan?

I do not know about Barron's SAT II: World History; but I know that Barron's usually cover more material needed, which is better than having less material covered.

I would guess barron's as well. My S used Barrons Euro during his AP Euro class, but still scored a 790 on the WH subject test with no prep.

THANKS! I need to go out now and buy the barrons book now

Is barron's enough? Or is it recommended that i use it along with kaplan?

Barron's book is enough.

What about the pratice tests in Barron's?

^ very difficult.

any more suggestions if i should use barron's only or both ( for study material and the practice tests) ?

Well, I were you, I would use Princeton Review for Practice Test because they "closely" relates to the actually exam; from my knowledge.

How would you guys compare kaplan and PR?
