<p>I have taken 2 years of world language(Spanish) and I want to know, if a college requires 2 years, but recommends 3 years, would only taking 2 years really affect my chances of getting in, assuming I am majoring in engineering?</p>

<p>For very selective colleges, it might be a factor. Presumably there’s a reason they recommend 3 years.</p>
