World load

Could anyone tell me what the world load at Bowdoin entails? (heavy, moderate, frequent papers, class time per week?)

world? I assume you mean work.

When i visited I heard it was rough but that you could get consistent B+'s with normal amounts of work.

right, of course im willing to work hard. but would you describe it as one of those more extreme "pressure cooker" schools-- like a swarthmore, which is known for incredible amounts of work and as being very difficult to maintain a respectable GPA?

For your first question: I did an overnight a few weeks ago and the kids I stayed with seemed like some of the most laid back people I've ever met. Very chill, very nice, in no ways crazy (not "pressure cooked" to oblivion).

Second question. The kids I stayed with were all A students in high schools and now seemed to be fine with having straight B+s/Bs. I think that is largely the result of the fact that in college there are different standards of what is "respectable" (grad school is not nearly as hard to get into as undergrad), but could also just be the type of laid back kids there are. Like, yes its harder then high school and I think a lot of kids will only put in as much work as they did then, but I dont get the sense that As are unheard of.
