<p>Yesterday I finally finished writing my common app essay. It was very very long, because I didn't look back to see how many words I was using to express myself.
Turned out it was 1700+ words.
So, then I revised it a bit, and completely stripped it of the things that were sort of related (but not completely). Now I have 1100 words. And I've read the essay 4 times, but can't find anything to delete.
Help? :(</p>
<p>I don't see how I can put all that in 500 words.</p>
<p>Is it true that admission people will not read an essay if it's longer than 3 pages? I mean, on the common app there IS no maximum limit given...
so it's not like I'm breaking the rules.
Any insight?</p>
<p>I'll give it a shot if you like. I'm pretty good at finding things to delete. I am an '09er but I've already finished my Common App. essay. (538 words woohoo)</p>
