A couple of months ago, I signed up for summer classes at my current college because I heavily doubted I would be admitted anywhere as a transfer student (or that I would be able to afford tuition at a private school), and I wanted to get a couple of general education requirements out of the way in preparation for three more years as a student within the University System of Georgia.

I signed up for a physics class (I needed a physical science credit) because I did well in calculus and people are constantly whining about the chemistry courses at my school, but this class is about ten times as horrifying as I had anticipated. I studied like a madman for the first two exams and received Ds on both.
At this point, I’m just hoping for a high C or low B. If my performance doesn’t improve, I might be looking at a D (I have a 3.9 now, so this thought kind of sickens me).

Naturally, I regret signing up for this class. It sounded like a wise investment two months ago, but then I got into Barnard.

Since this course is completely unnecessary for any major I’d pursue at Barnard, and since it’s based solely on Newtonian physics (I haven’t seen anything like this in Barnard’s course catalog), I’ve been wondering whether my poor grade in physics would follow me to Morningside Heights. Do you think my advisor would indiscriminately transfer this credit onto my Barnard transcript?

(P.S. I’m not suggesting that I shouldn’t have to suffer the consequences of my actions; I’m just hoping that through some farce or loophole Barnard will ignore my physics credit)
