Worried Junior

I know I something like this earlier in the year and people told me I had a good chance with a 3.9 GPA, but after this semester my unweighted GPA is looking to drop to a 3.8 :(..... So I was wondering if you guys could reevaluate me one more time.

If you guys can give me my chances, and give me truthful responses, it would be much appreciated.

if you can get your ACT up a few points you will have a very good chance of getting in.

ooo, your ACT is on the low side, yeah you might want to get that up.

IMO, your fine. the ACT score isnt that bad. remember, 27-31 is considered around average for UMich, and you seem to have great extracurriculars. the 3.8 Gpa seems about right too. If your essays and recs are good, there shouldn’t be much of a problem. Its not like your applying to Engineering or as out of state student. I think your chances are really good, not necessarily GREAT though.

With a 29 on the ACT I think you should make it in. After all, the school of nursing is really looking for male applicants! You have pretty good ECs and you seem like a well rounded applicant with a general knowledge of nursing, and applying early will help too!
Write good essays and rock out the ACT when you retake it :)

Hey there. I was in the same situation you were this time last year. Worried, stressed, etc. all because of grades and what not. Your stats are good enough as an in state student when you’re applying to Nursing as a male. One of my friends had a shade lower ACT and GPA and he still got into School of Nursing. Bump that ACT a little more and that would give an insurance policy. Other than that, I’d say in. Just get that application in early and relax. Best of luck.

My UW GPA will probably be around 3.86 actually now after finals.

That’s good, how’s your SAT/ACT?

Your GPA is fine.

I think you will get in.

Your GPA is great, but I agree with everyone else if you want to up your chances, getting that ACT up to a 29-30 would help and apply as early as possible.

You need to get that ACT to a 30+ with that gpa.
