As I sit here procrastinating and not studying for my last real final I thought this would be an interesting thread, just because I haven't seen one like it (of course I didn't look).

Anyway I say...

Being sick away from home. And I don't mean being a retard, drinking too much, and then facing the consequences. I mean actually getting like a bad flu or something. Not fun.

Finals. Obviously

...damn I had another but I forgot.

Anyway, what do you think?

Well I was only in college a semester before I had to drop for financial reasons, but the worst part for me was online/hybrid classes. Not being able to meet a professor or having to do work online that was completely unrelated to what was discussed in class is rather annoying. Being away from family isn’t really an issue for me(seeing as they caused the above mentioned financial issues) but I am sure for a lot of people it is. Going from having someone go out and get food and such to having to do it yourself can be stressful for some. Also having to maintain some sort of budget can be hectic, but problems like that you will have to deal with your whole life.

Definitely finals time for me… Sigh.

When you walk into a bathroom stall in your hall and the toilet is full to the brim with diarrhea and there is paper all over the seat. It’s unbelievable. Can it really be that hard to flush the toilet? Do people really leave their bathrooms like this at home?

I think it’s the anonymity and the fact that it’s NOT their bathroom which makes it so right/fun/awesome to lay a huge log along the toilet bowl rim, cover it with toilet paper, **** on the paper, and slam the toilet seat down for the next unfortunate person with diarrhea and no choice but to use the toilet or **** on the floor. It’s basically the same reason there are always piles of gelatinous loogies on top of the urinals.

But really, people who do that are ******bags who deserve to clean it with their tongues

speaking of bathrooms I remember the one I forgot before… really low shower heads.

I mean my god the thing is at my chin, you know how ****ing hard it is to wash my hair every morning? It is a chore… that’s for sure

I have a private bath so that isn’t an issue for me, thank God:)
I think the worst thing would be, like the OP said, getting sick in college. I never imagined how difficult it would be to make myself do dishes, go grocery shopping, and still put forth a lot of effort in class.
The second worst thing would probably be the last few weeks of the semester when professors are piling papers and projects like crazy. I broke out in stress hives for the first time ever.
Ugh lol. It’s totally worth it though.

Wrong, Baits 1 in my private bathroom

MLD, how do you like Baits? I’ll probably be at Baits II next year and just wondering what the feel of it is.

I coined the term “shower pilates” last year because of the shower heads in east quad. I am NOT a tall girl, but getting my head under that shower head required some contortion. My private bathroom this year has an awesome adjustable shower head, so now it is tall enough and if I feel like it I can shower sitting down. XD

I am sick every other week, and it’s not like my parents take care of me at home anyway so getting sick here makes no difference. If anything it is better because my doctor is close enough to walk to so I am not kept from going based on my ability to drive safely. I would say what sucks the most is the lack of sleep. I never get to sleep.

This thread made me vomit, by the way, which a communal dorm bathroom has never actually managed. Kudos.

If you don’t mind me asking, how tall are you? I mean, if a “not tall girl” had trouble getting under the shower heads in East Quad then I am afraid of what 6’4’’ me would have to do to wash my hair…

Baits is the worst dorm. In the middle of nowhere, no dining hall, have to take a bus to ANYTHING, and no community whatsoever. But I’ve heard the rooms are big and a lot of them have private baths if that’s a must for you.

I’m only 5’7. It wasn’t TOO terrible but I did have to bend my back to fit under it, and the first few weeks I was sore from it-- thus “shower pilates.”

@actafool

It’s not that bad. I like it. Private bath room. Nice and quiet when you need it and you can go to parties when you want. You aren’t constantly hearing drunk people roaming around in your halls and outside.

You will have to take a bus to some classes and my hall is not very social. And you have to walk to your dining hall.

But the rooms are big and its nice waking up, walking to class. Stepping outside and it being nice and quiet. Walking down a back path to class, seeing squirrels, deer, groundhogs, whatever. Hearing birds chirping, walking by a lake. Fresh air, etc.

You won’t get that nice “nature” experience on central.

Well, I guess there are positives and negatives to any dorm. I think I might like it there, since it sounds alot like what I have at home.

Private bath room is kind of big for me, and the choice of whether or not to go party/be social is kind of nice, too.

I’d like a social hall and a dining hall, but it’s not that big of a deal, I guess.
