Worth a retake?

Because my ACT score is currently much better than my SAT score, I plan on submitting only it to most of my schools when I apply in the fall. However, here's the dilemma- some of the schools that I will apply to also require/recommend SAT IIs, so I'll have to submit those along with my ACT score. This, obviously, inherently implies that my prospective colleges will also have access to my sub-par first attempt SAT I scores.

Is it worth the cost and and studying to try to improve my SAT I score to meet the colleges' standards, or will they simply disregard the low SAT I scores and consider solely my ACT in its place (and the subject tests, of course)?

I'm sure I could raise it with at least a good deal of studying, , but frankly, if I can avoid it, I would really like to...

Thanks for responses.
