Worth applying anymore?

I was looking at the data that came out for EA at Chicago and it said they had over 1600 acceptances with only around 600 spots left for RD. I was wondering if there was even any reason left for me to apply?haha Thanks.

not all of those 1600 EA people will accept!
you could be one of the 600!!! Go for it!
I love Chicago.

It depends on their yield this year. I believe they normally used to accept somewhere in the 3000’s, and I’d actually expect the yield to be lower this year (because the use of the common app would mean that there are very likely quite a few what-the-hell applicants who have no real interest in Chicago).

Of course, the admissions officers have been doing this for quite a while and they probably have a good idea of how many people they need to accept to ensure they fill their seats. I do have some doubts that they would have left so little room for RD applicants; it might just be that they believe the yield for RD could be significantly lower (and, hence, they can send out more offers).

Either way, if you really want to get into Chicago, it will show in one (or more) of your essays; you’re just not going to get anything if you don’t apply :P.

Good luck =).

Don’t give up because of that. If you want to go to U of C and make it so in your essays and effort to apply I am sure you will get in.
