Worth applying to Duke? - Chance me!

Tuition is like $37,000 (Room and Board is $10,000), and my parents make way more than $100k so I won't be getting need based scholarship at all. I know Merit Based scholarships are there, but how many are there? I live in SC (what is it like only 15% of Duke comes from Carolina?), and my tuition if I go to a SC university is basically completely payed off (a program from 10 years back and $10,000 in scholarships).

I've heard really good things about Duke, but is it really worth PAYING all this money for Duke Undergrad (undergrad doesn't matter a whole lot compared to graduate)? I know that Duke is a stellar school, but what do you guys think? I'm 1/80 at my school, just a 31 ACT and 2040 SAT, a lot of ECs and a ton of community service, and my essay is great but I'm kind of wondering if I can even get in and whether Duke is worth it.

you should apply, then decide if you can afford it later, I know I can't afford it as is, but I'm waiting on the $$$.

I hate wasting money, so that $75 application fee is holding me back if I can't even go to Duke if I get accepted if it's that expensive. I think you're right though, I should just apply first and see what happens, but with an economy like this, I'm just thinking that I should stay in state and apply to Duke for Graduate.

Duke is one of the most elite institutions in the country. You speak of it as if it's some mediocre school. You have a solid chance, so apply and hope you are accepted.
