There is a reason so many ex-NYers live here; I am a 5th generation Floridian myself.

Are you referring to the bridge that has messages encouraging jumping on it? That one was not even on campus if we are thinking of the same one unless a lot of them have that kind of stuff written on them.

haha exactly. so what's your appeal to Cornell. Pure prestige?

No, I love the ILR program, and nothing like it is offered around here. I love the school too, the only turnoff for me is the weather, but I can deal with it since I would be a junior transfer and only have to put up with it for 2 years.

I got about 15 close friends that go there. Let me know if you get in--if you do and you don't already know people there, I could have them show you around and all that; unless that's a creepy offer lol(I don't know, this is the first forum I've ever used haha).

haha well I wouldn't say substantially better since your grades are good, but I've been working my hiney off and expect at least a 3.8-3.9 this semester, assuming I screw up at least one final. probably still won't get in! it's really funny actually

my appeal to Cornell - HumEc PAM program, exactly what I'm looking for and the only other program I found similar enough to it was at one of the UC's. Discounted tuition for NYers. Cornell's gorgeous campus (I'm at NYU, don't like the lack of campus) and that rah rah school spirit crap...hehe. Getting away from my parents (I live with them and commute like 2 hrs a day) and getting out of the LSP program at NYU (don't ask, it's stupid). I like snow! I like 4 seasons! Hate the heat - Florida's lovely October-March, otherwise I'll stay away.

If you turned down an Ivy (some people would go there even if they don't like it) for UF, you must LOVE UF and they'll pick up on that. Get rid of that C+ and you're in...enjoy the sunshine!
