Worth it to retake a B?

I am a freshman majoring in Business and I took Intro to microecon this quarter and am going to end up with between a 3.3-3.6. I could have had a 3.6+ if I didn't mess up on a midterm. Next quarter the same graduate student is teaching the same class and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to retake microecon with Intro to macroecon as well. I still have all my notes, quizzes, midterms, books, everything from Intro to microecon. I can still drop microecon in the middle of the quarter if I don't do well because I still have my annual drop I can use this year, too.

Thanks.

I would only recommend dropping a course if you were failing, or you are having a very difficult job grasping the material (which could also translate into failing).

Don’t be naive to think you’re always going to get A’s in all of your classes. Haven’t you already paid for this semester’s class too? Why pay for the same class again next semester?

Techically, a 3.3 - 3.6 is between a B+ and an A- by most standards, so I’d say it’s probably not worth it. That would be taking the place of a class where you could learn something completely different or fill with an elective of something that interests you outside your major. Even if you feel like you could have learned the material better, why not review/study it on your own? Ultimately the grade really won’t make that big of a difference, and it’s far more important that you know your material than that you got such and such a letter for it.

No, its not worth it. Suck it up and accept the B. Its not the end of the world if you get a B.

Okay thanks. I was just wondering because I go to a large state school where admission into the business school is competitive. According to their website the average pre-req GPA is 3.7 while the cumulative GPA is around 3.5.
