Withdraw from microeconomics?

So my first test I got an 82 and I just took my second test on Monday. I think I might have gotten into the 80 zone but I'm not sure. Basically micro is my social science elective and if I drop it, I'll be down to 15 credits. Should I just take a B'ish grade or drop it and receive a W.

I wouldn’t withdraw, because withdrawing, imo, should only be if you know you’re going to bomb (D or F). I’ve gotten C+'s before; a B is not bad at all.

I’m a pre - med student though :/

Dude, it’s a B. A B in one class is not going to screw you out of med school. A string of W’s every time you THINK you might get a B will. It’s also excessive and dramatic.

It’s very unwise to drop a class because you might get a B, even as a pre-med. Don’t worry, medical schools have admitted people with B’s on their transcript. It’s very common. >.>

Okay I will not drop it Thanks for the advice

Wow. You’re situation is EXACTLY like mine. Except, my grade isn’t a B. lol.

lol yea its common

AHAHAHA withdraw from a non-major class for fear of a B?!?
Don’t do it. Not worth it at all.

Like many have already said, I wouldn’t drop it. One of my friends used her drop credits for Microeconomics after she got an 85 on her first exam…

Here’s my problem with that: first, it’s your freshmen year, so getting a B isn’t going to kill your gpa. You have plenty of time to bring your grades up, and if you have good grades in your other classes, then I don’t see the point in freaking out. If you get all As and that one B, your gpa will be no less than 3.7 at worst. Also, you’re definitely going to need those drop credits when you move to your upper division classes. I’m sure I’m going to run into those classes that I will struggle in every now and then. Save them for the REALLY tough ones you might need during your junior/senior year. Unless you’re getting anything below a C, don’t drop…just try your best to bring it up.

Anyway, my friend is really anal and she kept freaking out about getting a B, but that’s her loss because she lost 3 credits for dropping. Now she only has 9 credits left. That’s three 3-credit classes or two 4-credit classes she can drop in the future.

Yeah, I wouldn’t recommend you drop the course. I’ve heard from some people that getting a W on your transcript is way worse than just getting a B in the course, and that employers / grad schools think that you majorly screwed up or something. Just take the B, and work harder on your future classes to bring your gpa up.
