Well… I was deferred. So now I am trying to think of anything I can do to boost my application. I have taken two SAT subject tests, but I took them after the EA deadline and decided not to send them in late. They aren’t that great, but I was wondering if I should send them in now anyways to show that I took the initiative to take them, or if that would just end up bringing more harm.

I took Chemistry and got a 640, and then Math 1 and got a 690.

My other test scores aren’t that great. My SAT is 1960 (570, 670, 720) and my ACT composite is 30 (English 33, Math 26, Reading 32, Science 30, Combined English/Writing 30). I sent in both, because the bad scores on each test were kinda offset by decent scores on the other.
My ECs are pretty weak, too.
I am on two swim teams, captain of one, and made it to championship meets for both teams.
I am also on a track team, where I have also competed at the State championship level.
I volunteer at a center for children with disabilities, much like BC’s own Campus School.
I participate in various other activities as well – Biology Club, playing Violin and Guitar, and singing for a few programs at my Church.

I have a feeling my low test scores and ECs are what caused the deferral, and perhaps the fact that I am homeschooled. I am taking 6 main courses this year, 2 AP and the rest are Honors if that option was available. At this time, my lowest grade is a 97%. If I can keep these grades up, I feel confident about sending in my Mid-Year report. My GPA is currently 4.0 unweighted GPA and 4.42 weighted.

Do you know of any other way that I can make my application a little more favorable? I’d really appreciate all help and comments!

Good luck to all who are waiting on letters, and those who have also been deferred. Congrats to those accepted!
