So basically all my exams are on consecutive days, and I think I can get a 4 but maybe not a 5 now, and I want to be able to study for more useful exams (I already paid - not a big deal if I cancel and lose 13 bucks). With the English requirements at CAS, is it even really worth it to take the English Literature Exam?

i would recommend taking it just in case it can do anything for you, after all this is your only chance to do so.

If you get a 4 it counts as a credit of english. Pretty worth it I'd say...

i am not taking it....although my Ap Englsih teacher is forcing every single in his class to take it.

The English exam is pretty easy imo. Take it--you never know. Seeing as you predict a 4 I think you're not too far off from a 5 if you really focus.

I took it. If its worth a credit, then definitely take it.

There are a bunch of mandatory seminars and such that you have to take at Cornell. When I visited, my freshman host said that she regretted not taking it because now she was forced to take all these little classes. It's a pretty good idea, especially if you're a science major that is as uninterested in writing nonscientific papers as me.

If I pass out of the writing class is it still worth taking? I have both English credits but the subjects seem pretty fun. I am pretty good at writing (710 SAT) but I am wondering if I know how to write the Cornell way. I donno just something that's been on my mind. Writing course = annoying + useless or useful enough to take as an elective?

I believe CAS only gives you credit for a 5. If you don't think you can get a 5, then don't take it. CAS will also only give you credit for one of the English AP tests. So if you already have a 5 on the English AP Language test, there's no point in taking the Literature one as well.

Does Cornell look down upon students that take an AP class but not the test?

I've taken several AP classes and haven't taken a single test and I got accepted. Although I'm thinking about maybe taking the AP Psych and possibly AP Lit (god I hated writing those essays) test.
