I just got notification yesterday that I was admitted into a regional Honors Group band. The admission is audition based. For each instrument, it has about 20 students in total selected from all schools in the region. Wondering whether that is something important that I should send an additional email to the schools I’m applying to. Many thanks for any suggestions!
It’s a pandemic so IMHO it is worth sending in as it could put you over the hump. Thoughtful wording of this achievement, along with an intentionally worded email on your desire to be admitted to the school. Not too lengthy as AO’s are incredibly busy. Think impressive and succinct. I wish you the very best!
That’s a good update. Go for it!
Got it, thank you so much! Just one more question on this: who would be the appropriate person to receive this? Should it be the admission officer who interviewed me; the general admission@…edu address; or the specific music instrument teacher in that school? Many thanks again!
I would send it to the admissions email address as "Addition for file; your name.
You could also send it to the music instrument teacher under separate cover.
I’m a parent and my son (applying to day schools) won an award in early January and I sent it to all the schools he’s applying to. All but one wrote back, “Congratulations! We’ll certainly add it to his application”. I sent it vs my son sending it(so it was a little less awkward).
And yes, I would definitely send it.
Great, many thanks!
The college portal may have a place to upload any additional information or their website will address how to send Admissions any updates. I wish you the best!
Thank you all very much for the suggestions! I just emailed all the admission emails and also uploaded where the portals are allowed to upload. Hopefully that additional piece of info is helpful for my application.
