should i send/notify admissions? if yes, how?

hey y'all,

apps are now done! woohoo! anyways, i made the musical~! hahaha. and i also made jazz band. do you think i should notify the schools about these, or do you think they already have enough in their hands (my past ecs)? i mean for example in an andover short answer i wrote about how i auditioned for the musical last year, didnt get in, was brave, etc. LOL, do you think i should tell them? and if i should, how? email or by the post?

idk... aren't they busy enough though?
i wish i could notify them about my recent stuff too, but i don't want to bother them...

I have a daughter who is applying to several colleges. She has send in supplemental material for her musical skills, piano and cello. She is in several orchestras and in 1 of them she got promoted to principal cello.

This is an achievement that the admissions officers should be aware of and so my daughter sent an email notifying them of this achievement.

If there is anything that could improve your chances of getting admitted should be sent.

Good luck

freshie, congratulations for making it at the second shot!!! Well I think, what you should do now is, update those facts on a 'supplement sheet of activities' or that sort, notifying them of the news - send it off the schools and they will definitely read it. Don't worry too much about bothering them because they will read ALL those you sent in. I think only emails and phone calls are inappropriate these days... Just think of it as a supplement! G'luck to you! :)

From first hand experience: Yes

Not only is it usually of interest to the school, it shows that you are interested enough in them to provide the information...

Don't worry about bothering them. Even if you are, its not like it will hurt your cahnces of admission.

actually, this might make me sound hypocritical, but notify them.
i notified all my interviewers and they seemed ok w/ it.
