So I really don’t know what it is like to take 4 AP classes in one school year, and how much pressure there is to pass those classes. I’ve heard about people having to put their head through a wall in order to pass 1 AP class. Also heard about people that sleep through multiple AP classes and still get A’s in those classes with absolutely no pressure. I’ve actually never heard of anyone fail an AP class, is it because they get prepared the summer before they take that class?? These are the following AP classes that I’m thinking of taking my senior year:
- Genetics
- AP Biology
- AP Chemistry
- AP Calculus BC
- AP Physics C
- English 12
- Spanish 4
Any thoughts??
It depends on you. How much free time do you have? Are your extracurriculars time consuming? It also depends how you feel about these classes already. If you’re more math/science oriented and feel that you’re better in these subjects, that’s always better. Although, 4 APS in one year is a lot. I’d bring it down to at least 3, senior year comes with a lot of college application time consuming stress. Unless you feel reslly
Taking 4 AP classes might not be out of the question depending upon the students. However, taking 3 AP sciences + Genetics is just folly. In addition to the heavy workload that each class entails, all, but particularly bio and chem, have time consuming labs that require a double block period or time spent before or after school.
I mean, the reason why I’m thinking of taking 4 APS my senior year is because I’ll be attending a community college right after high school, then applying to 4 year universities, so that way I have more time.
