4 AP Classes too much work load?

Next year I will be taking AP U.S History, AP Biology, AP Language, and AP Calculus BC.
Is this too much to handle for one year? Are 4 AP classes too overwhelming?

Four AP’s is not too uncommon. If you believe that you belong in those classes and are best suited in there, then you should be fine. Just think of them as normal classes with a little challenge (:

But honestly, I took AP Calc BC last year and it was much less painful than what I had imagined going into it. I think we have a tendency to do that to ourselves–overdramatize how impossible our schedule will be. I can’t speak for your other classes, but I’m sure that when you’re done you’ll be glad you challenged yourself and gained so much information and experience. That’s what AP’s are all about!

If you manage your time wisely, and put forth the effort, I’m sure you can handle the workload OP. Also, if you can get away with it, bs the classroom assignments. Life’s too short to do 20 pages of free-response questions. -_- Anyway, best of luck!

I took 4 AP’s last year and I was just fine. However, combined AP Bio and APUSH might be painful because of the amount of reading necessary for both of them. If you just manage your time and try to avoid procrastinating you should be just fine!

This schedule is wayy too difficult. You are taking the hardest ap classes possible. That is way too hard. I would suggest dropping a class. 3 ap classes is well beyond good for top colleges! Drop ap bio. It is very very hard

I got a 1 on ap bio this year and last year

It would really depend on your past experiences. If you have been successful in a few APs already, you know what to expect. If you are just starting AP classes, there is a steep learning curve for some. I’ve seen kids take 8 APs in a year and do great, but I’ve seen kids with one or two APs who have really struggled.

It’s CC… .people take 10 AP’s a year, play 2 sports, are presidents of 5 clubs, and they still think they aren’t doing enough to go to Harvard.

Thanks for the throughtful responses guys. Your wisdom is appreciated

So I took 4 APs last year. It was a bit stressful, mainly because it was my sophomore year and i didn’t have a study hall, and i was in 3 other honors classes. but it ended up working out okay. You should be fine! Just always stay organized and don’t procrastinate too much!
