Would a Cornell viticulture and enology major be hired in California?

Would someone who graduated from Cornell with a viticulture and enology major, still be hired on the west coast? (eg. california/oregon?)

I don’t see why they wouldn’t.

I don’t think California has a prejudice against “non-California” people.

Many places might for some reason prefer someone from a UC, but a degree from Cornell is going to open a lot of doors up anywhere.

Well, I’m actually from California. It’s just that the viticulture program here kind of focuses on cold weather climates.

You might want to contact some area wine makers regarding their hiring preferences. Most people are happy to answer high schoolers’ questions regarding a possible career. Also, do Davis and Sonoma State really only focus on cold weather climates? I know nothing about the field, but it just seems, odd given their location.

No, Cornell focuses on cold climates. I currently go to Cornell. Okay, thank you! I will definitely do that.
