Currently, the requirements for direct admit are a 3.8 GPA and a 30 ACT. I have a 34 ACT and a 3.79 unweighted GPA. However, the Kelley Direct Admit website says that they also accept the highest GPA on the transcript which " In most cases this is the weighted GPA.". My weighted GPA is a 5.1/5.0. In this case, would I be offered direct admission even though my unweighted is a 3.79/4.0 (My school submits both the unweighted and weighted GPA)
Yes, you will be offered direct admission because Kelley School of Business looks at your weighted gpa. In this case, your weighted gpa is above a 3.8, so you are fine.
You’re good. They take the highest GPA
@SUNDAE101 But the thing is that the website says it needs to be a 3.80 out of a 4.0 scale so would Indiana convert my weighted GPA back to a 4.0 scale or what?
They will convert it to a 4 point scale
@iubaccounting do you know how that is done?
I’m not sure. I would call the admissions office.
@iubaccounting I called them and they said that it’s internally handled and that they don’t know the specifics as to how they convert it…
As long as your weighted GPA is on your transcript, you’re in. No matter how they convert it, a weighted 5.1/5.0 will convert to more than 3.8/4.0.
@stbemtpynest Sweet! Also, do you know if the process is the same for the Hutton Honors College? Their GPA requirements fall between a 3.85 and 3.95 but it says they accept weighted or unweighted. So in that case I’d get an invitation to the honors college as well because a 5.1/5.0 is around a 3.9 when converted to a 4.0 scale?
^^yes. At least that’s how it has been done in the past.
