Would I write about my epilepsy for a college essay?

I have been trying to come up with some good essay topics for colleges. The first thing that came to mind for me was my epilepsy, but I don't want it to sound too much like a sob story, which it might, because when I write, I tend to pour out my feelings. I was diagnosed when I was four, and even then, I was extremely self conscious about it, even though no four year old other than myself would ever have any idea what epilepsy is. Even though it doesn't affect me much physicals, except that my meds make it really hard for me to concentrate for long periods of time, which make tests like the sat extremely difficult for me (I chose not to have a 504 plan when I started high school because I wanted to do everything by myself and not with extra compensation. Otherwise, it has affected me a lot in terms of self esteem, which is almost as bad as if I had convulsions. So, back to the min question, should it be okay for me to write about this in an application essay?

Maybe if you talk about how it influenced your life, and how you grew from it. You could show how a weakness turned into a strength through hard work. I wouldn’t know, of course.

I have a congiental heart condition and my common app essay will probably be featuring how I’ve overcame obstacles and found passion in the arts because of my lack of ability in sports etc. I think it be a good college essay.
