I am currently in my junior year, studying in a public school. My goal is to get into one of the ivy league school but my school doesn't offer IB or AP program as the ivy league school would like to see. Would it be a good idea to transfer to a prep school now ?

too late bro. it’ll be really hard to get in if u don’t have AP’s already. unless you get 2400 SAT

No. Colleges weigh how well you have taken advantage of the opportunities available to you. They know that different high schools have different programs.

The Ivy League does look for socioeconomic diversity. A top student from a rural school may have a better chance to get in than a student from a prep school with all the bells and whistles.

Very few boarding schools of any stature take students in their senior year. You would also find that you have missed at least half the college counseling and that your new teachers and counselors would be ill-prepared to write college recommendations for you. (They would have known you for only a couple months before the recommendations are due.) Sit tight and if admission to your first choice college doesn’t happen, do you best where you land, and consider a college transfer your sophomore year.
