would it be a waste of time applying to ivy league?

I dont have straight A's or a 2400 on my SAT, in fact i received a D in chemistry sophomore year. (first D ever, i went crazy)
I go to a college preparatory high school that is very difficult. I come from a family of doctors, and theyre always pushing me to apply because "applying is better than not doing it at all" so would it be a waste?
or do i at least have a 1% chance?

Please list your stats and we will tell you.

what should i post? im new sorry

Sat scores, average, aps taken, extracurriculars, and the sorts.

well i just kind of want to know if the D will automatically disqualify me

One “D” alone won’t automatically disqualify you from the Ivys. That, combined with lackluster SATs and GPA probably will.

If we’re being honest, yea, that D kinda kills your chances unless you have a major hook or explanation behind it.

so i just shouldn’t apply at all?

I wouldn’t apply to all 8, but if you want to apply to one or two, go for it. You never know what could happen.

It’s hard to tell without your stats. You could have a 3.99 UW and a 2390 for all we know.
