<p>and if they did, they wouldn't care. colleges expect students to present themselves through their writing in the best way possible. if that UC essay is the best personal statement you've written, then turn it in.</p>
<p>the personal statement for common app can be anything unless it is specified on the supplement. I didn't even read those prompts and wrote two essays.</p>
<p>Yes, as long as it is well written. Revising it one more time, at least, might help. My UC essay last year was horrible, so I completely changed the topics and content for the common app essay.</p>
