As part of my summer assignment for AP US Gov, I have to take notes on the first chapter of the textbook which is about 30pgs. I'm almost done and contemplating whether I should go ahead and take notes on the next few chapters after that. I'm not sure how I feel about the notes I took now. I think they're very detailed but I don't know what the teacher's tests are like so I guess it's tough to say how useful they'll be for the actual class. But then again I know I could save a lot of time during the school year if I went ahead and took the notes now...

I highly recommend you not go ahead. Especially with social science subjects, working ahead leads to massive disinterest when the time comes to utilise what you’ve done before. APUSH and AP USGOV are both incredibly in-depth and interesting classes. Wait.

I understand and thanks for the advice!

Us gov isn’t that in depth, unless your teacher makes it so. The actual ap exam is really straightforward, just know your facts/court cases/etc. now ap us hist is really an in depth and comprehensive course that requires you to synthesize many events
