Hey,
I am seriously considering withdrawing with a "w" from my Calc 1b class. After the first midterm, I am near failing. Got 30 out of 30 on the first quiz, and since then I have not gotten over 50% on either of our other quizzes or our 150 point midterm.

For the record I am not a bad student, this is just literally the hardest math teacher I have ever had. I have received A's in every math class I've ever taken, and currently have a 3.9 at De Anza.

I am a second year economics major enrolled in the winter quarter at my local community college. I have recently submitted my application for transfer to several schools including UCLA, Berkeley, and other UC's. On that application I claimed that I planned on completing Calc 1b this quarter, and 1c this spring quarter prior to transfer.

My question is: How bad will it look if I withdraw from this class on my application? This quarter and next quarter's grades are not included on my application from what I've heard, but would it look really bad if I didn't complete what i said I would on my application, and instead re-took 1b in spring and completed 1c over summer?

Please help, the last day to withdraw is coming up, and I'd really appreciate some feedback!
