Hi I am a current high school junior looking to apply to colleges in the fall of senior year. Aside from being enrolled in a prestigious and high ranked high school (school is in Bethesda MD, a Washington DC suburb), I am an average student. I got to a school where there is a lot of competition, a lot of pressure to succeed and do well. Many of our teachers remind us that the honors classes we take are AP level, or the regular classes we take are honors level. I'm aware that my school is recognized for their reputation in numerous American colleges, however I do not consider myself to be a stand-out student at my high school. My stats are average at best:

Unweighted GPA- 3.0
Weighted GPA- 3.31 (Note that I am definitely going to pull up my GPA this year and next)
I have not yet taken the SAT. SAT simulation score: 21700 (I'm hoping to improve)

I plan on taking 4 SAT subject tests (this coming year):
SAT Chinese with Listening
SAT U.S. History
SAT World History
SAT Math 1

AP Test Scores:
AP Government- 4 (no excuses, I should've done better)
I am planning on taking these AP tests this year including:
AP World History
AP Psychology
AP Chinese and Language
And these AP tests senior year:
AP European History
AP Environmental Science
AP Literature and Composition
AP Microeconomics
AP Macroeconomics
Total of 9 AP credits

Extracurriculars: (these are outside of school)
Chinese Saturday School
Farsi\Persian Language Classes
Swim Clinic\Team
Art\Oil Painting
Krav Maga Israeli self-defense
I also attended a college course called "Dictators and Diplomacy" this past summer at the American University School of International Service (SIS) I received an A for the course

Most damaging weaknesses:
I have no prominent in-school clubs, which I regret.
I am an Asian female, which implies that the level of difficulty for me to be accepted into an above-average college is slimmed due to the abundance of achieving Asian competitors.

I am looking for outside advice and opinions aside from my parents and school counselor. Do you think the American University or Boston College are realistic options for me? Thank you for your input and I appreciate you help.
