Would like to intern over the summer, where to start searching?

Hello,

I am currently a junior who would like to get an internship basically anywhere (?). I am interested in biomedical engineering and other kinds of engineering.

I’ve been perusing the web and have found several research internships at colleges. Do these research internship require you to be experts in that area? I just would like to get an internship to learn more about that certain expertise and so on.

So can someone please clarify these things for me? It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Check out this program, if you haven’t yet. https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/sip
You should be eligible since you are either a junior in high school or undergrad. From what I’ve found while looking for summer internships, it seems like most places just ask for you to have taken some classes related to the internship positions.

Would you be open to an unpaid part-time (working remotely) research internship if it was related to biomedical engineering?

@helpingteens Sure. Would it be strictly by myself or with at least one another mentor/peer?

Your Career Center should be conducting interviews between now and March. They should have a list of firms that are looking for interns.

@clichescreenname it would be with a mentor, and if another peer of yours is interested, it can be done together.
