Well, first off, UIUC is EXTREMELY stats based. A 25 from an OOS isn't going to impress them very much. Also, they don't accept letters of rec (they say that they tended to judge based on the teacher's writing rather than the student - this is a lie.)

On the other hand, if your tennis is good enough to get you recruited, you stand a chance. They are looking to increase geographical diversity, and if you claim that you are Hispanic, a URM status certainly can't hurt. I'd say that you have a fair shot, but if you could bring up that ACT it would help. Did you take any APs last year? That may help if you got a 4-5.

i dont think i am good enough to play tennis... due to them being in the same division as powerhouses such as Ohio St. Big DI schools ya know. Ummm so i have been looking into UWisconsin and it seems they accept much more OOS and they accept recs which is very good for me. Would you guys say i have a better shot there than UIUC?

Maybe try taking the SAT as well. Who knows? Maybe you'll get a better score. (I can't really imagine that concept going in reverse though. LOL.)

jeez, chill out a little...it's gettin' to be the end of the semester, and a lot of us have more finals to deal with than we like to think about. As the others have said, your ACT score is rather unimpressive. Your GPA is ok, and a strong senior schedule is good. Extracurriculars are extensive, and that helps. Really could go either way. Get that ACT score up, and do really well with your courses this year, and your chances will improve significantly.
