I don’t plan to pursue a degree in music when I get to college but I wanted to know if universities would consider me more if I was able to release an album. I plan to release my own music either way but I wanted to see if anybody knew if it would gain me any favor in college admissions if I were able to release an album and have that under my belt as a creative project I pursued on my own.
I would just release the album and not try to do it to make an impression on any college. If it sells /downloads 100,000 units then maybe you have something to talk about.
Lots of people cut music and put it on you tube etc. (Look at Billie Elish).
If this somehow relates to who you are or somehow relates to your major then great. If not it’s just an EC. Which is great BTW.
