According to something that I've heard,
Only approx. 35% of students accepted to Abu Dhabi Campus of NYU are from the United States, so would this mean that it may be easier for foreigners to get in.

So my theory was that,
with 35% ,approximately, americans, that's about 68 students to 195 students total.
BUT, if we put it into perspective, and I have no idea how many, most of applicants will be american. correct?
So if 5/6, for example, of applicants were american, out of 5858, 4880 would be americans, applying for only 68 spots. = 1.3% chance

Wouldn't that mean that the remainder of applicants (internationals), would be approx. 978 people, and with that, wouldn't there be 127 student spots to non americans up for offer?
Therefore, doesn't it give International students a 12% chance or something.

To be honest, I'm super tired and I'm just waiting for someone to tell me that I'm wrong. But why am I wrong?

Well… You’re wrong because your groupings are off.

You’ve assigned the U.S. (a country) to group A, and then the rest of the world (every country ever) to group B.

To be more accurate, you would have to see what percentage of applicants are accepted from each country and then compare that to the US acceptance rate.

Right now you’re comparing apples to oranges.

And, of course, you have no idea how many Americans applied to NYUAD, you merely know that 1/3 of those attending NYUAD are Americans.

Yea, I think your reasoning is a little specious.

Also, despite its internationality, nationality doesn’t play such a big role. They’re not really targeting a quota for individual countries. Also, as federal financial aid is not a factor, there’s no quota for Americans vs. internationals, though that does make it an excellent option for non-Americans in need of financial aid (less than a dozen universities offer need-blind/full-need admissions to international students).

Thus, for internationals, while it’s probably easier to be accepted at NYUAD than at equivalent American universities, within NYUAD there’s little difference in the standards for American and others.
