Would Northeastern reconsider merit aid?

Hi! I was admitted into Northeastern EA into the honors program with a scholarship but no financial aid aside from loans. Does anyone know if they would reconsider merit aid and/or admittance into the University Scholars program? I have pretty high stats (2300 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA) and was a bit surprised not to receive more merit money, because finances are a big consideration for me. Does the amount of merit aid you receive depend on you EFC or are they separate? Would they reconsider or match scholarships from another school? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@tickettoride:Have you checked all the tabs on your status profile? In years past, some have reported “missing” the merit awards initially.

@TomSrOfBoston‌ Yes, I got an award of $13k/year but was a little disappointed because that isn’t really enough to justify the total cost. I received some pretty big merit awards from other schools (Tulane, my local state school, etc.) and wanted to know if they’d maybe reconsider/match.

Deans scholarship can be awarded up to $25,000 a year, so its doubtful that you would be reconsidered for the USP if you didn’t get the top award initially. Plus, if you are informed upon admission if you made it into the University Scholars Program

I am sort of in the opposite situation as you.
Same stats as you posted (4.0 UW, 2300), but with a higher merit award and no honors college invitation.

@guildencrantz‌ that’s so strange. For me it was mentioned right on the acceptance letter, maybe you missed it? If not, you could always email them. They could have made a mistake. Either way, it couldn’t hurt to ask. That’s what I’m definitely doing.

What school did you apply to? I’ve heard that they only take the top 10% for each school, so some of them have higher thresholds (I got into engineering).

@guildencrantz‌ congrats on getting into engineering! I ended up doing the program for undeclared students. I can’t really decide if that helped or hurt me.
