I'm torn on whether to leave my current school or not. I was bullied freshman year and I switched to my current school (a better one academically) but I don't feel that I fit in. I'm going to be a senior and I don't want to regret not going back to my old school if that were the case. So basically, I want to switch back to my old school and I'm not sure if it would affect my college chances/transcript. My freshman year transcript just says "Passed" next to each class, instead of a letter grade. If I switch to my old school, will my sophomore and junior year classes also only say passed?

My only other concern is giving up my leadership positions that I have currently at my school, and cutting ties with teachers that I've become close with. Socially, I feel like it might be better to graduate with kids I grew up with as opposed to strangers. Can anyone please give me some advice? I really want to know if my transcript will be affected.

It’s possible your transcript will be affected. What should happen is each HS should send your transcript for the period which you attended. My guess it that sometimes doesn’t happen. Since you’re talking about one last year would stick it out. It seems like the lowest risk.

I would stay at the better academic school and try to make arrangements to see old friends at the other school.
You think you would fit right back in, but those friends will have made new friends, or gone to different schools, and then you will have to work at making friends again.

I agree that it seems best to stay where you are (particularly since it is stronger academically), continue with your leadership positions, and make arrangements to see people from your old school on weekends etc. And I would suggest you talk to the guidance department at your new and old school and see if you can get a transcript from your first school (with grades) sent in as part of your application. If your current school can’t do it, talk to the guidance department at your old school and see if they can send it to a list of colleges that you can provide them with.

From these comments, I assume you are seeking to selective colleges to apply to. So, how do you plan to explain to these colleges why you switched back to your previous school?
