Would taking 19 units at a Community College be too much?

These are the courses I will be taking for the Fall semester of 2016:

Calculus 3 [5 Units]
Physics 3 (Electricity and Magnetism) [4 Units]
Biology 3 (Introduction to Biology) [4 Units]
Health 11 (Principles of Healthy Living) [3 Units]
and Communication Studies 101 [3 Units]

Comm 101 will start in the second half of the semester, so I’ll be mostly busy with the other 4 courses for the time being.
Things I want to clear up and mention is that I will be unemployed this semester. I will also be attending a local gym regularly, and I will remain dependent of my parents this semester. I will also be living off FAFSA to get by.

Hey! I just graduated from a CC and those classes are fine. You won’t feel overwhelmed. Calculus and Physics will be rough but if you focus then you will do just fine. Health and Comm should be easy and low maintenance. Biology just depends on your professor. Try ratemyprofessor to see how good or bad they are. If not then I would consider dropping physics because (if you want to transfer) most schools require the math requirement COMPLETED before you apply. Good luck!

I take 18 - 23 units (have to petition for over 20 units) on the regular to be able to apply to UCLA, UCB, and UCSD for Fall of 2017. If you’re not working and you’re dedicated it’s fine. Motivation is key. Good luck!

My maximum at CC was 22 credit hours, you will be fine.

There are some people who work two jobs and go to school full time. You have no job. 19 is piece of cake if you focus and do not procrastinate. Save the partying for the breaks…
