I'm taking 3 this year: AP Chemistry, AP calculus AB and AP language and comp.
Next year I plan to take: AP Calculus BC, AP biology, AP literature and comp, AP us government and AP macroeconomics..... It honestly sounds like a lot of work, and I don't it to kill my gpa if I don't end up doing well in them. Is it really worth it for college admissions to take this many AP classes?

In my school, Gov and Econ are one semester each so they shouldn’t be too bad. If you got through AB without too many problems, you’ll be find in BC. Same with the other subjects. If you hate English or Science, then don’t take it. Colleges can tell if you drop an AP course outside of your intended major for a normal level course in your field of interest.

I took 5 in one year and it is definitely worth it. So long as you don’t procrastinate the workload is bearable, though not much fun. Be prepared for long nights and not much of a social life. However, it looks really good to colleges because it shows that you can handle multiple college-level courses in one semester/throughout the year (aka prepared for a college workload by the time you apply).

Hi! I’m a junior and am taking 5 APs for my senior year. I think with enough planning and preparation we should be fine. Best of luck to us both!

AP Gov and AP macro are semester classes at my school. For me, Calc BC came after pre-calc. So I think you will be fine.

Hello! So i took 5 APs both my junior and senior year and although I felt like it was doable and totally worth it, it was a lot of work and took a lot of planning. You should keep in mind that senior year comes with a lot of extra activities that will take up your time. I think people fail to realize (I know i did) how long college applications and scholarship applications take to fill out. You also need to maintain involvement in some extracurriculars, a good GPA, and you might want a little down time to enjoy your senior year so make sure you consider all of these things. If you think you can handle that balance then definitely go for it! If you can’t then don’t stress because everyone is different and colleges won’t write you off because you “only took 3-4 APs” or whatever, they consider the whole picture! Good luck!
