<p>You could include them, but their significance depends on what you did using those skills.</p>

<p>I would include playing guitar as an EC. Self teaching is only unusual if you have such high level ability that you perform.</p>

<p>Like you were self taught and good enough to perform for audiences, in which case then you would include performances in your EC activities.</p>
<p>I would say I am good enough to perform, but I’ve never had the opportunity to.</p>
<p>If you desire to perform you might want to take the initiative to find a place, like a local coffee house or at the library for kids. You could then put that down on your EC list.</p>
