would USC be worth $20k extra a year over Tulane?

I got a scholarship to Tulane for $80,000 over four years. Nothing to USC and my family wont qualify for financial aid. I plan on going to law school in the future, so I need a strong GPA. opinions?

Thanks

Is this a trick question? Okay, I’ll bite. No, USC is not worth $80,000 more than Tulane. Not unless cost is absolutely, positively no concern. That’s between you and your Ps. Of course, if you aren’t interested in going to Tulane, it’s not worth going there whether you get $20K per year or are paid to go there. But if you can see yourself being happy there, where’s the dilemma?

WOW - That’s a tough question that I think only your family can really answer, after you revisit both schools if you can. Tulane and USC are my child’s top two choices for college this fall. He loves both, but is leaning toward USC. However, he has no fin aid or merit scholarship at either school, so they are equal to us financially. Because we are not wealthy, but won’t qualify for fin aid either, I am not sure we would be able to turn down $80K in merit money at Tulane, if it were offered.

Hard decision! Nice to have such great options! Good luck!

well, can you afford to pay for USC on your own?
if so i would say go for it. otherwise tulane is the way to go. when it comes to applying to grad schools usc and tulane aren’t too far apart
