I’ve learned about this question from an online course and I’ve written about how I became fascinated with it and what I think will be the answer. Is this a bad idea?
Depends on how it is written. You need to consider your audience and make sure your letter is understandable and potentially of interest to all.
Some responses in my household:
-
Talk about your passion for it, then don’t talk more on that, but on how you approach other, seemingly unsolvable problems in your life.
-
Tell and relate a bit of how you’ve come to be interested, but you absolutely must NOT focus on this as the core of your essay wherein you are introducing yourself. College adcoms actually ARE NOT actually desiring to know about your aporoach o this problem. They want to know about you.
You need to understand a bit about what your targets want to learn about you.
This isn’t an ordinary hs writing task, where it needs to make sense unto itself. Colleges review you for an admit (not a grade or award) and are looking for qualities they want in their community. Try to know what some of those are. And, “Show, not just tell.”
