Would you choose UCLA or UCBerkeley?

lol i’ll add to this lol thread:

besides my department and the standing of the campus i.e. all the things that you mention (Environment, Social, Quality, etc…)

a big decision factor for me would be how old i will be when i graduate.

if i go to CAL i would graduate in May
if i go to UCLA i would graduate in June, my b-day is in June so i would be considered older.

its complete vanity but its not the only factor i would consider, its just a big factor cuz…well idk.

Starlight just got rejected from Berk in another thread- Ergo, starlight is a freshman.

And yesterday I cut myself opening a package, and my blood was this weird blue-ish hue… so UCLA it is for me!

I imagine there will be a lot more cutting, without the blueish hue, if you don’t get in to UCLA.

Berkeley academics > UCLA’s , I’ve been told

Dang straight, lintij! Rampage!

I completely disagree that no one calls Berkeley, “b-town”.

Anyone who thinks that has obviously never met TRE.

[Whiz Mob](http://whizmob.tv/)

B-TOWN. Thizzin’. You’re welcome.

“B-town ain’t all fun and games, you feel me?”

how about the engineering programs, who has a better school of engineering?

do not go to berkeley!! go to UCLA!! your’ll be much happier!!

Chose UCLA over Berkeley last year as a biochem major…has never regretted ever since… I think both schools are decent enough and which ever you choose is really not too important(really, it just depends on your own preference, just like my preference of ucla over uc berkeley). No matter which school you choose, try with your best endeavor to achieve and acquire the most out of it is really important.

LOLL i love reading this old threads!!

UCB for me tho.

I didnt even apply to UCLA hahah.

Berkeley’s my absolute top choice. Even if I don’t get into Berkeley and do get into UCLA, I’ll go to Santa Cruz instead. Living the last three years in SoCal, I’ve learned to despise it. :)

I live in the bay, and i still still despise socal, even tho my second choice is UCSD hahaha. I don’t like hot weather, i like nice cool weather.

I love how amazing UCLA is and perfect…but I could see myself going to USC better. They have a good design program, and I would feel so inadequate going to UCLA because it’s so dang perfect (especially the surrounding area) and the people there seem pretty close to it too.

I like the area around Berekeley though…really nice restaurants and cafes, and I like that it’s an artsy college town :)

I’d choose Berkeley, mainly because I’ve lived in SoCal for my entire life and I want to escape. It’s also a bit of sibling rivalry. My sister applied to Cal and UCLA with the same major, got denied from the former, and attended the latter. I want to see if I can beat her.

I wouldn’t mind to go to UCLA, but since I spent the first 10 years of my life in LA, I’d think the nostalgia would be odd as a college student.

I got into both schools. I think I’m going to pick UCLA. I’m not sure.

@Calbearguy

It’s so nice to hear someone say that. ahahah I swear, man, breathing in that crisp and perfectly fresh bay area air is so much nicer than breathing in the warm, asfault-smelling, grey and smoggy air of LA. You breath deeply here in LA and you cough, you breath deeply in the bay and it’s like you took a drink of refreshing water or something. haha it’s weird…

Leaning towards UCLA right now, but I’d have to come visit Berkeley if accept (I’m planning a trip right now just in case).

Same with the most of the ppl here, GO LA~~!!!

for me, LA is a vibrant orange or yellow while B is a warm and cool grey…

so yeah is this perception accurate? if it is, then yeah i guess i need to decide from there haha

@kapitan although ucla has a top notch engineering program berkeley’s is ranked 2nd in the nation tied with Stanford. All that aside, the ranking will matter when it comes to grad school. Besides, the difference is negligible since both schools are heavily recruited from.
