would you consider yourself an adult?

maturitywise, that is.

and if so, when did you become one and how?

Pshh, no.

Maturity is for not-fun people.

nononono

no real world skills D:

I can't open a bottle of milk :(

No.. not really. I really don't want to grow up too fast.

i am when it comes to certain matters. idek, i can't really explain it. if i'm around friends or other people who act really giggly & immature tho, i'll get that way. but like, i'm pretty level-headed & conscious of the stuff around me ; i'm a good advice-giver too. i got that way through uhh...family stuff :/

No, and I don't ever plan to.

Yes, I would at some times, and at other times I wouldn't. You see I have ADHD, and while I can control it very well, there are times where I don't and in those circumstances, I have the maturity of a 8-year old. lol ^^

I can open bottles of milk, but not of pickles.

Define: Adult, Maturity

How would you differentiate between an adult and a non-adult. What characteristics would the former have that the latter would not?

Using

Dictionary: ma·tur·i·ty (mə-tyʊr'ĭ-tē, -tʊr'-, -chʊr'-) pronunciation

n., pl. -ties.

1.
1. The state or quality of being fully grown or developed.
2. The state or quality of being mature.

then no. Though nobody ever matures, then...

No. I don't even have my temps. I'm mature, but I could never live on my own. Especially financially. I'd spend every cent I had.

that's an exercise for the reader, if i subjected everyone to my definition the thread would be boring :p

personally i think i'm an adult, and the two things that make me an adult are (a) knowing my life is mine and taking responsibility for what i do (b) being aware of other people

i think i'm mature (most of the time), but i don't know if i'd call myself an adult..

Opening food is an important life skill. I don't have life skills.

I consider myself more of an adult than 93% of people over the age of 30.

I started living without emotional support when I was 14 or so, which caused me to think about things more independently than most other people my age (well, more than my affluent and sheltered peers). However, this also stunted me socially.

I will never be an adult.

Given that I handle most of the affairs in my life myself, I'd say yes.

yes b/c now i can control where/with whom i live etc

In some ways, yes.
