would you feel out of place if...

i was pretty normal and i just got an email about a research position in a genetics lab through my BME advisor (biomedical engineering advisor). the engineering school and arts and sciences get emails all the time about research opportunities. it helps to have lab experience but besides that it's up to the person pursuing. honestly, i've found that most students don't want to find a job, and those that do (in their field) get it.

i was pretty good in high school, and better at my transfer university; if you get a research position, the professors "take you under their wings" and will help you with school work, and even find you tutoring help if necessary. (from my experience)...essentially, it just takes you wanting to be there.
